Organization

SBR is organized by strategic business unit (SBU) and line-of-business (LOB) each with distinct charters and methodologies to accommodate diverse customer needs. Each unit works within a 3-year strategic plan built from a bottom-up, outside-in perspective. An overarching 25-year long-term plan sets context.

Financial Services Group/FSG

FSG provides services to regulators, banks, insurers and credit unions. Teams typically deploy process mapping and quantitative tools (statistics, econometrics, scenario analysis, data mining) across their assignments. Staff are predominantly seasoned professionals from prestigious financial institutions.

Decision Support Services/DSS

DSS offers research, analysis and planning support. Investigative efforts draw upon a variety of methods and sources: focus groups, structured interviews, experts, research institutes, electronic and documentary research, internal networks and databases, surveys. Work products typically provide the analytic base needed to found complex business decisions at the executive level. Strategic planning, market (demand- and supply-side) intelligence, forecasting, technology assessments, sales strategy are among the service sets offered.

Operations Support Services/OSS

This unit specializes in the alignment of organizational design, processes, and technology. Project key objectives often involve: standardization, resource rationalization. Tools and approaches drawn from TQM, TQC, CMM, ISO and 6-sigma frameworks are frequently embedded in these assignments.

Industrial Engineering and Technical Services/IETS

IETS projects deploy industrial engineering disciplines with typically a heavy quantitative or technology component. IETS also offers expertise in R&D portfolio management and process improvement.

Competitive Productivity Services/CPS

This LOB provides cost reduction services often with a professional service (legal, accounting, financial) overlay. Value and manufacturing engineering frameworks typically envelop projects in this portfolio.

Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cybernetics & Intelligent Systems/C5I

Working with leading edge concepts and techniques, this SBU assists companies on the next wave of their development. Assignments typically have a heavy computer or telecom element and employ a mix of research, analysis and implementation. Most staff attached to this unit have been drawn from the engineering disciplines.

Functional Support Services/FSS

Providing enterprise infrastructure support and risk mitigation services, this group is driven by the need to supplement or backfill professional staff. Areas of activity include—hybrid legal services, esoteric and bulk recruiting, corporate governance, ADR, negotiation and litigation support.

Special Operations/SpecOps

SBR's tactical force is deployed for quick fixes, typically on-site. This offering typically breaks up process or business choke points in overcoming serious obstacles in high risk, time or cost sensitive situations. Business turnarounds together with M&A support are among the services rendered. Engagements have fielded teams to remote areas in China, India, Russia, and across North America.
